Royals Bag 3-1 Win
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Ballpark of Cincinnati. But 22-year old catcher Tim Myers produced just enough offense to carry the Royals past the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 3-1. Myers went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. The Royals go to 45-47, putting them third in the Western AA Coastal Division.
Cornwall won the game in part because of John Andrews. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Royals ahead, 2-0. For the game, Andrews had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Tough loss," said Cincinnati manager Nick Pauli. "But we'll learn from it."
