Scorpions Handed 7-4 Loss by Vermont
|
Matt Bowden propelled his team to victory over the Sonoma Scorpions. The final score was 7-4, Vermont. Bowden picked up the win for Vermont, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Isaiah Borne was credited with the save for Vermont, his 19th of the season.
Tied up with the Scorpions in the top of the fourth inning, the Milkmen got a boost from second baseman Matt Jackson. With the bases loaded, Jackson saw a first pitch sinker from Mike Martinez and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Vermont on top, 3-1.
"No complaints from me," said Milkmen manager Steve Reid. "I like what I saw out there."
The second-place Milkmen are 47-44.
