Cavalry Drop Tigers, 4-3
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the St. Louis Cavalry and London Tigers.
The St. Louis Cavalry snuck past the London Tigers, 4-3, in 11 innings. St. Louis pitcher Adam Appelbaum, in particular, had a standout performance. St. Louis, at 33-58, sits in last place in the Western AA Central Division.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of John Yarbrough to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Cavalry on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Adam executed his pitches at a high level," said St. Louis manager Leo Medina.
