The Cornwall Royals defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs by the score of 3-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Felipe Marquez. Marquez went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Royals on the day. Kelly Powell got the save, his 17th in 20 chances. The Royals improved their record to 57-33 with the win over Hamilton.

With Cornwall leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Marquez hit a run-scoring single off Hamilton hurler Bobby Carrero. It was the 73rd hit of the season for Marquez and put his team ahead, 3-0.
