Led by Mike Bolden, the Cornwall Royals defeated the Sonoma Scorpions, 7-6. Bolden was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Royals. Cornwall pitcher Joaquin Palacios got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mauricio Martinez got the loss. At 48-43, the Royals are currently third in the Western AA Central Division.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Sean Trahan came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Sonoma pitcher Mauricio Martinez, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cornwall on top, 7-6.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Trahan, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
