Greg Martel was a major contributor to the 4-3 Hialeah win over St. Louis. The Firecats third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. John Wright came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. St. Louis's current losing streak is now 12 games.

Had Martel not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Martel hit a 2-run single. The Firecats took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Martel told the Hialeah Chronicle.
