The Cornwall Royals topped the Hialeah Firecats, 6-3, in Western AA action at King George Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cornwall pitcher Justin Hesley. Hesley got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up the save was Bubba Byrne, his 20th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Cornwall third baseman Ross Myer had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Myer stroked a 2-run single to left-center. It made the score 4-2, Cornwall. For the game, he was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
