Bulldogs Defeat Boll Weevils, 3-2
|
Miami got a terrific performance from pitcher Mike Mudge, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hamilton Bulldogs. Hamilton won the Mariachis Ballpark contest, 3-2. Mudge threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Dave Combs snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.2 innings. He's now 6-6 on the season. Hamilton now sits at 54-37, while Miami falls to 43-48.
The Bulldogs got a clutch hit from designated hitter Zach Vest. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Bulldogs.
Vest told a Hamilton Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
