Behind a solid performance from right fielder Nelson Mendoza, the Sonoma Scorpions defeated the Stockton Ragin Cajuns, 10-8. Mendoza belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Scorpions. The win went to Jon Kwait in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Adam Asbury took the loss. The Scorpions, at 49-42, sit in second place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Mendoza delivered big-time for Sonoma, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Adam Asbury. The game-changing hit put the Scorpions on top, 10-8.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mendoza said after the game.
