Down to Defeat Go Bombardiers, 8-1
|
The St. Louis Cavalry and starting pitcher Justin Ashe stifled the Cincinnati offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at Cavalry Ballpark. Joe Roper sewed up the save, his 7th. With the win, the Cavalry improved to 31-58.
Doug Marrin had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the St. Louis left fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Cavalry in front, 3-1.
Cincinnati manager Carlos Almendarez said his team was "out of sync."
