Royals Drop Pines, 4-3

In a close game at Oakhurst Field, the Cincinnati Royals edged the Maine Pines, 4-3, in 10 innings. Cincinnati first baseman Aaron Jalbert stood apart with his performance. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Cincinnati reliever Josh Hunter picked up the win. Nick Slover, who finished 5th in the NC in saves with 25 last year, took the loss for Maine. Getting the save was Dane Roberts, his 3rd.
Jalbert had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 sinker from Nick Slover, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Royals a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Jalbert.
Jalbert attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
The loss makes Maine 32-32.
