Reich, Augusta Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
The Augusta Capitols eked out a 1-0 win versus the Cornwall Royals at The Capitol Dome. Nobody did more than pitcher Mike Reich. He was terrific. Matt Schmidt, who is tied for 5th in the W-AA in holds with 7, nailed down the save. The Capitols lead the Western AA Coastal Division by 4 games.
Reich earned the win to move to 6-2. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 2 hits, striking out 7 and walking 3. The right-hander allowed the Royals few scoring opportunities.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Reich.
