The Capitols grabbed a win, 5-1, at The Capitol Dome, overcoming a fine effort from Cornwall pitcher Cody Fields. Fields went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The second-place Capitols bumped their record to 54-35.

Bryan Langel dealt the Royals a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Augusta leading 2-1, Langel hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.

Augusta manager Chris Clarke commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
