11-8 Loss Deepens Vermont Funk
The Stockton Ragin Cajuns overcame a pretty good performance by Vermont shortstop Eric Hunter, beating the Milkmen, 11-8, at Emeralds Ballpark. Hunter went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. Marc Stephan picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. The losses continue to add up for Vermont, having now dropped 11 straight.

Stockton used the timely hitting of Matt Lubinski to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ragin Cajuns on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
