Ragin Cajuns Fall Short, 4-3, at Sonoma
|
Ricky Fernandez, who is tied for 5th in the W-AA with a 0.95 WHIP, was locked in. The left-hander led the Sonoma Scorpions to a 4-3 win against the Stockton Ragin Cajuns at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. The winner was Fernandez. He threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Danny Pena. Kasey Acree sewed up the save, his 15th.
Sonoma catcher Bill Martz landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. It was his 10th home run of the season. With it, the Scorpions took a 2-0 lead.
"Ricky's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Sonoma manager Justin Watts.
With the win, the Scorpions have a record of 52-36.
