Cavalry Deal Tigercats 4-1 Loss
|
Justin Ashe imposed his will on the Tigercats from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 St. Louis triumph. In 7.1 innings, Ashe surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Jeremiah Porter closed the game out for St. Louis, earning his 4th save.
The Cavalry had to work out of trouble with one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-1, St. Louis. But Vail, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had mounted a threat. Bob Sallee dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch cutter, Sallee hit into a double play.
Vail has now lost 5 in a row.
