The Sonoma Scorpions and Hialeah Firecats put on quite a show.
The Hialeah Firecats had their hands full with Sonoma Scorpions starter Steve Oswald, who frustrated Hialeah hitters while leading Sonoma to a comfortable, 9-1 win. The second-place Scorpions now have a record of 45-41.
Tom Johnson drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate against the Firecats. With the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Sonoma in front, 2-1.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Scorpions manager Keith Young, "I like our chances."
