Miami catcher Aaron York had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. York went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2, even as Vermont beat the Boll Weevils, 4-3. The winner was Mark Williams in relief. His record improves to 1-0. John Reynolds took the loss. The Milkmen saw their win-loss record go to 32-53. At the same time, the Boll Weevils fell to 41-44.

Had Steve Doyle not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Doyle hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Milkmen.

Vermont manager Mike Barriga called it "a darn good win."
