Scorpions Beat Firecats, 7-4
|
The Sonoma Scorpions racked up a win at Ballpark of North Richland Hills, bumping off the Hialeah Firecats, 7-4. Dave Kramer, who started for Sonoma, pitched effectively for his team. Kramer got the win, improving to 6-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Jonathan Harvey wrapped it up, recording his 12th save.
Sergio Camero had a big 3-run home run for the Scorpions in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Sonoma trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Eric Albright and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Scorpions on top, 3-2.
"We've got a great group of guys," Camero said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Western AA Central Division-leading Scorpions are 58-28.
