Win Lifts Bulldogs to 54-31
|
Starting pitcher Brice Shine pitched well enough to help the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Miami Boll Weevils, 7-3. Shine, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. The Bulldogs have an impressive 54-31 record.
Dane Foley had a big 3-run home run for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the second inning. With Hamilton leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Didier Noël and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Bulldogs on top, 4-0.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Foley told the Hamilton Today.
