Tigers Walk It Off for 43rd Win of Season
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the London Tigers and the Vermont Milkmen, Mike Brown, who is tied for 3rd in the W-AA in innings pitched with 109.0, was the difference-maker. The London right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The win went to Bobby Pfau in relief, making him now 3-3. Carlos Palmas took the loss for Vermont. The win gives London a season record of 43-41.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for London. That's when Ryan Waugh hit a 2-run home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Palmas to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Brown told reporters after the game.
