Bombardiers Win at Hamilton, 6-3
|
Cincinnati parlayed a decent outing from starter Travis Brenza into a solid win over the Hamilton Bulldogs. The final score was 6-3. Brenza, the winner, moves to 2-7. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. Phil White wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Manny Stevenson to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Bombardiers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Travis giving us the start that he did was huge," said Cincinnati manager Nick Pauli.
Cincinnati raised its record to 44-42 with the win.
