The Cornwall Royals beat the Sonoma Scorpions, 3-2. Cornwall pitcher and Clinton, Kentucky, native Justin Hesley led the way. Bubba Byrne, credited with the save, is now 18 for 22 in save opportunities. With the victory, the Royals upped their record to 56-30.

Had Willie Rodriguez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rodriguez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Royals.
