The Vermont Milkmen defeated the Cornwall Royals, 8-2. Center Fielder Brian Brockman deserved a large share of the credit. Brockman was 4 for 4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Milkmen. Vermont has a record of 36-45, placing them 4th in the Western AA Coastal Division.

The Royals had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Milkmen going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder John Benson came to the plate. Benson hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch cutter from Cornwall hurler Jose Paredes. It was Benson's 8th double of the year.

"The vibe's good," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga. "We've got to keep it going."
