Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cincinnati Bombardiers take on the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Hamilton starter Jon Escobar pitched well against the Cincinnati Bombardiers at Ballpark of Cincinnati. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. With the victory, the Bulldogs upped their record to 53-30.

Jay Robinson had a big run-scoring double for the Bulldogs in the top of the third inning. With Hamilton leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Pinion and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bulldogs ahead, 2-0.

"Jon has got a slow heartbeat," said Hamilton manager Emmanuel Montano. "He doesn't panic or anything."
