The rain came, as predicted, but the Miami Boll Weevils and London Tigers were able to complete their ballgame.

Boll Weevils first baseman Jamie Tripp put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the London Tigers. Tripp went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times for Miami in the contest. Dave Vondrasek, now 4-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Jose Cardona earned save number 12 this season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Tim Miller delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Miami first baseman hit a 2-run home run, putting the Boll Weevils in front, 4-2.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Tripp.

With the win, the Boll Weevils have a record of 38-45.
