The London Tigers got a magnificent performance from pitcher George Robertson, who muffled the Miami offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Tigers win at Ballpark of Miami. Robertson, now 6-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Today's win puts London at 42-39, while Miami falls to 26-55.
London used a well-timed hit by Justin Wardlaw to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Tigers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Wardlaw said.
