Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Cincinnati Bombardiers and Augusta Capitols.
The Augusta Capitols got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Reich, but the Cincinnati Bombardiers still won the game, 2-1. Reich threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Ryan Johnson earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Cincinnati used a timely hit from Omar Gatica to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bombardiers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gatica told the Cincinnati Herald.
After today's action, Cincinnati sits at 30-52, while Augusta falls to 48-34.
