Milkmen Earn Late Win
|
The Hialeah Firecats went down to defeat to Alberto Renteria and his Vermont teammates. The final score was 2-1, Milkmen, in 14 innings. Vermont reliever Geert Brown picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Fernando Salas was tagged with the loss. The 5th-place Milkmen have a record of 31-50.
Dustin Andrews's at-bat with one out in the top of the 14th was critical. The Vermont second baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
