Boll Weevils Rally Late to Nip Tigers
|
Ballpark of Miami was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Miami Boll Weevils and London Tigers.
The Miami Boll Weevils used a stellar performance from pitcher Jose Ramirez to throttle the London offense en route to an extra-inning, 3-2 win at Ballpark of Miami. The defeat makes London 55-28.
Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 26-year old third baseman Tim Kidd had a real shot to win the game. London pitcher Jay Yeiser was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Kidd hit a run-scoring single. The Boll Weevils had a walk-off triumph.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Ramirez. "I like it."
