Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Greg Martel, who is tied for 6th in the W-AA in hits with 86, the Cornwall Royals defeated the Stockton Ragin Cajuns, 7-1. Cornwall now sports a record of 53-28.

Tied up with the Ragin Cajuns in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Royals got a boost from right fielder Felipe Marquez. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Marquez saw a full count sinker from Freddy Arellanos and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Cornwall on top, 1-0.

Marquez attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
