Capitols Send Miami Home with 9-7 Loss
Dave Garcia had a good game, but he could not keep the Miami Boll Weevils from falling, 9-7, to the Augusta Capitols at The Capitol Dome. The Miami designated hitter hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. Max Hercules got the win, improving to 7-2. He held the Boll Weevils to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Picking up his 19th save was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Cox.

Augusta got a lift in the bottom of the fourth from shortstop Fabian Hartnett, who hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season put the Capitols up, 3-2.

"We maximized our offense today," said Augusta skipper Chris Clarke. "That makes everyone's life easier."

With the win, Augusta upped its record to 49-30.
