Milkmen Trip Boll Weevils, 4-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Vermont Milkmen used a stellar performance from pitcher Lorenzo Martinez to throttle the Miami offense en route to an extra-inning, 4-2 win at Ballpark of Miami. The win has Vermont at 24-51.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Scott? The 22-year old first baseman Scott stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Vermont up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Lorenzo kept his poise and got the job done," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga. "He was outstanding."
