Boll Weevils Handle Cincinnati, Snag 5-2 Win
|
Miami and Cincinnati duked it out and the Boll Weevils came out victorious.
The Miami Boll Weevils beat the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 5-2, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Jimmy Kimmel starred for Miami. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Joe Underwood got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings.
With Miami leading 3-2 in the top of the ninth, Kimmel hit a sinker from Mike Pinion for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Boll Weevils ahead, 5-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Kimmel.
Miami is now 38-38, while Cincinnati is 31-45.
