Tight Tilt Goes to Bombardiers, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Nobody did more than pitcher Steve Dunn. He was terrific. Dunn, now 4-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Max Mascareno, his 14th this season.
Cincinnati second baseman Ken Kirkland landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the bottom of the first. It was his 1st home run of the season. With it, the Bombardiers took a 3-0 lead.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Kirkland.
Cincinnati is now 31-44, Miami 37-38.
