St. Louis Tumbles Again, Falls, 4-1, to Hamilton
|
The Hamilton Bulldogs downed the St. Louis Cavalry, 4-1, at Cavalry Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Aaron Bergman had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the W-AA in complete games with 1, handcuffed his opponent all game. Jesus Garcia, 5-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Kyle Murray finished the game for Hamilton and earned his 6th save.
Hamilton needed the clutch hitting of Jay Robinson to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 3-1. For the game, Robinson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Robinson said his team "played with determination."
St. Louis's current losing streak is now 9 games.
