Ken Springer never let Miami get something going. The Sonoma right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Scorpions to a 3-0 win. In 6 innings, Springer surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Sonoma now has a record of 54-23 with the win.

Sonoma second baseman Robby Mills landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. It was his 2nd home run of the season. With it, the Scorpions took a 3-0 lead.
