San Francisco Defeated By Mounties, 6-5
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the San Francisco Fire and Vancouver Mounties get after it.
The Vancouver Mounties defeated the San Francisco Fire, 6-5, in National Conference action at Mounties Field. Vancouver pitcher Nick Douglass had a standout performance. In 5.2 innings, Douglass surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 4 runs. Allen Anderson, who finished 4th in the NC in wins with 16 in 2019, nailed down the save.
Brian Shultz was 1-4 for Vancouver. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Taylor Motyl. It was his 63rd hit of the season.
Shultz told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
The victory puts Vancouver at 24-40.
