Boll Weevils Outdo Bombardiers in Extra Innings
|
The Miami Boll Weevils clipped the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 5-3, in 11 innings at Ballpark of Cincinnati. The standout performance belonged to Miami pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Mike Mudge. With this game in the books, Miami is 41-33, Cincinnati 40-34.
Lance Ricke delivered a big hit for Miami. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Boll Weevils ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"It was terrific getting this win," Ricke said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
