Boll Weevils Top Ragin Cajuns to Even Record
|
Miami designated hitter Tim Miller was instrumental in helping the Boll Weevils triumph, 6-3, over the Stockton Ragin Cajuns. Miller went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brian Joiner earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Zack Cunningham notched his 6th save in 6 chances.
The Boll Weevils got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Ross. For the game, Ross went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Miami a 4-3 lead.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Ross.
