Led by 21-year-old Bob Sallee, the Vail Tigercats downed the Sonoma Scorpions, 8-4. Sallee went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Vail. The win puts Vail at 43-29 this season.

Vail right fielder Jaden Lewis contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 67th hit of the season and put the Tigercats ahead, 6-2.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
