Jones, Scorpions Too Much for Cavalry
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 27-year old center fielder Jaiden Jones, the Sonoma Scorpions defeated the St. Louis Cavalry, 5-2. Dan Toigo earned the win for Sonoma. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 7-5. The defeat makes St. Louis 27-46.
Making an impact for Sonoma was designated hitter Dave Pimenta. Cranky drilled a solo home run off Adam Rosales in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Pimenta went 1 for 4 with a home run.
Sonoma manager Keith Young was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
