Scorpions Earn 3-2 Win Versus Capitols
The Sonoma Scorpions faced a tough opponent in Augusta pitcher Kyle Griffin, but found a way to pull out the victory at The Capitol Dome by a final score of 3-2 in 14 innings. Griffin went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Sonoma reliever Steve Bueno, now 4-0. The loser was Eduardo Vargas. Rodney Caporn earned the save for Sonoma, his 2nd.

Sonoma used a clutch hit from Humberto Castano to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Exciting game to play in," said Castano. "Getting the win makes it even better."

The first-place Scorpions have won 5 straight games.
