The Augusta Capitols picked up a win at King George Park, topping the Cornwall Royals, 9-3. On the mound for Augusta was right-hander Nick Carrier. He played a principal role in the triumph. The Capitols, at 38-33, sit in first place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Kevin Cremo came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Cornwall pitcher Kelly Powell, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Augusta on top, 5-3.

Augusta manager Joel Braddock commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
