Hialeah Firecats starter Mark Schlagel was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the London Tigers, 5-1. Schlagel, the winner, moves to 4-11. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Tom Pittman was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

Hialeah used the bat of Mike Saba to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Firecats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
