The exploits of first baseman Tim Reed helped the London Tigers defeat the Augusta Capitols, 5-2. Reed went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. David Cavalluzzi, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The second-place Tigers improved to 47-23.

Had Reed not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Reed hit a 3-run home run. The Tigers took the lead, 5-2, and never looked back.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Reed told the London Observer. "You win just by scoring more runs."
