Bombardiers Fall to Ragin Cajuns, 8-1
|
The Stockton Ragin Cajuns defeated the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 8-1. Second Baseman Joe Moreno deserved a large share of the credit. Moreno was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Ragin Cajuns. Stockton starter Scott Barth was credited with the win after throwing 76 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. The 5th-place Ragin Cajuns sport a record of 31-39.
With Stockton leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Ernie Aceituno hit a 2-run single off Cincinnati pitcher Steve Dunn. It put the Ragin Cajuns ahead 4-0.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Aceituno told a Stockton Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
