Bulldogs Spill Boll Weevils, 6-0
|
Hamilton right-hander Jon Escobar pitched his team to victory over the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Miami. The final score was 6-0. Escobar yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-4. Tommy Daniello closed it out for his 5th save.
Hamilton used the stroke of Sean Custis to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bulldogs ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Escobar.
Hamilton is now 44-24, 2½ games up in the Western AA Central Division.
