Cincinnati Slaps 3-0 Loss on St. Louis
|
In a tight tilt between the Cincinnati Bombardiers and the St. Louis Cavalry, Eddie Sarabia was the deciding factor. The Cincinnati right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Sarabia, the winner, moves to 2-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Max Mascareno was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 13 save opportunities.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Bombardiers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when second baseman Jeff Newingham hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Brian Davis and made the score 1-0, Bombardiers. Newingham was 1 for 4.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Leo Medina.
The victory puts Cincinnati at 26-40.
