Boll Weevils Get 4-2 Win Versus Hialeah
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Ballpark of Miami.
The Miami Boll Weevils handed the Hialeah Firecats a 4-2 defeat at Ballpark of Miami. Right Fielder Juan Lira starred for Miami. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Zack Cunningham finished the game for Miami and earned his 3rd save.
Lira contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Miami in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Lira took a fastball from Dustin Richards and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Boll Weevils to leap in front, 3-1.
Lira called the win "a team effort."
The Boll Weevils improved their record to 29-37 by beating Hialeah.
