Milkmen Earn 5-2 Home Win
|
Vermont turned a good effort from starter Jung-jun Pak into a win over the St. Louis Cavalry at Emeralds Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. The winning pitcher was Pak, now 3-5. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. Michael Hatten earned the save for Vermont, his 12th.
Dan Conde had a big 2-run home run for the Milkmen in the bottom of the second inning. With Vermont leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Andrew Braden and swatted a home run to left. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Milkmen ahead, 3-0.
Vermont manager Mike Barriga commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
The Milkmen now have a record of 23-44.
