Whistlers Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Danny Offen, who is tied for 3rd in the AC in wins with 7, imposed his will on the Scorpions from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 Boston triumph. Josh Becker picked up his 2nd save of the season. Boston, now 37-26, holds down first place in the American Conference Central Division.
A.J. Cook came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Offen.
