The Cornwall Royals picked up a win at King George Park, topping the Vail Tigercats, 5-4. On the mound for Cornwall was right-hander Angelo Quezada. He played a principal role in the triumph. Kelly Powell closed it out for his 9th save. The defeat makes Vail 39-26.

Oscar Cordova dealt the Tigercats a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Cornwall leading 3-1, Cordova hit a 0-1 splitter for a 2-run single.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Quezada. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
