Ragin Cajuns Need Extra Frames to Get Past Cavalry
|
The performance of Devin Lepp proved critical in helping Stockton beat St. Louis, 5-4, in 10 innings. The Ragin Cajuns right fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Stockton reliever Jonathan Lamas was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Shane Campbell took the loss. Carlos Martinez nailed down his 4th save.
Had Lepp not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Lepp hit a run-scoring single. The Ragin Cajuns took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Jeffrey Troke.
The win for the Ragin Cajuns lifted their record to 40-24.
